Hi!

This is wild capital, a newsletter about views on life, investing, business, music and sports with a focus on USA, European and Romanian market - the wild east of finance. Tangentially we or I will draw upon insights from history, tech, psychology, philosophy, sociological theory - investing is a game where each comes into play.

The free content will be focused on primarily stocks I already own (hence, skin in the game) and stocks I’d love to own but don’t have the $$$ yet (or won’t be as attractive by the time I get said $$$).

I hope that through this I make investing fun for our attention-span-deficit, hyperactive, ADHD-prone, quickly bored little, wonderful brains in the modern era and hopefully draw more interest to Romania’s stock market and offer potentially juicy investing ideas.

As an investor that tries to draw into Taleb’s ideas regarding asymmetric risk and “barbell” strategy, I hope this brings into light different views that stray from the classic “VTI and Chill”.

I guess my first post was what I was supposed to write in the about section, so check it out maybe.

My investment thesis is based on hunches. So far, so good. I have a pretty high-risk high-reward strategy with lots of volatility in the mix - with a healthy index fund and safety net so I don’t check my portfolio daily (lol who am I kidding).

I don’t really get numbers; damn it, numbers make my head hurt - I have a musician’s background.

That said, I believe there are millions of us plebs on the stock market that comprises it’s entirety. So there goes the Keynesian ‘rational actor’ theory. I think most of us try to justify our emotional, greedy, fearful little monkey by disguising them as rational decisions. So Mr. Market is at times, exuberant, fearful, calm - what have you.

Just like us - emotional and fragile.

So don’t expect me to do DCF analysis or whatever pretty numbers you can fit into an excel file. I find most analysts that do pretty numbers analysis do them to confirm their already existing bias - be it bullish or bearish.

Nobody knows nothing in investing.

I know even less.

This is Wild Capital! Weird stock ideas with big potential both upwards and downwards. Stonks go up or down.

All opinions my own. Not financial advice. Please consult your financial advisor, mom, dad, personal deity and your wife’s boyfriend.
